The Maharashtra Economic Development Council (MEDC), established in 1957 under the leadership of Dr. Dhananjayrao Gadgil, is a private, apolitical economic think‑tank based in Mumbai. Supporting both the Government of Maharashtra and industry, it promotes balanced state development through research, publications such as the monthly Economic Digest, and policy dialogues across sectors including infrastructure, agriculture, education, water management, entrepreneurship, and employment generation.
