ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) is a joint venture formed in December 2019 between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, established following their acquisition of Essar Steel India. It operates as an integrated flat‑steel manufacturer—spanning iron‑ore to finished products—with major capacities at Hazira (Gujarat) and pellet plants in Paradeep, Odisha, among others. AM/NS India produces a wide range of specialty steel grades across sectors such as automotive, energy, infrastructure, and defence, and emphasizes sustainability, community empowerment, and skill development. Under its CSR strategy, it focuses on inclusive social impact aligned to national priorities, including employment generation, MSME support, and health and community welfare in its operating regions across India.
